The only way you could do that would be with Vue xStream using Lightwave or other compatible application which would use the Vue render for Vue elements and use the other renderer for it’s elements, such as the fire generated using voxels . If all you have is Vue, then the answer, in my opinion, is that it isn’t impossible, considering that you could create animated objects and textures that could render to look like fire but it would be difficult and time consuming.
If you are doing a non-commerical project then I would suggest Houdini Apprentice which is free and can do fire, among other effects, quite well.
