just got started with animation and am really very lost. here is the problem have modelled a face in detail, a shirt and hands. my animation will be from waist up. i need to know where do i go from here , how do i connect these parts together so that i can set up the bones and how then do i create lip sync along with the animation.
(b.t.w. the face is already wired, and the facial morphs already created just need to attach the other parts for some body movements)

Hello,
I had the same problem for a character I created, and posted a question a few days ago.Maybe this can give a hint : http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?p=1552675#post1552675

There are several ways.
For lip synch try sound ctrl in track view, add it to the chin bone when the sound level changes it moves, so the character starts speaking.
use Splines for mouth, eyes and eyebrows. add the splines as bones to your skin Mod,
You can apply diffrent skins for hands, head body and so on.
always add MeshSmooth at the stack-top.
