How would you go about making the X-MEN text?

Firstly, I’m a complete beginner with Cinema. I know the utmost basics, but that’s about it. I know what I want to create, I just don’t know how to go about it.

I’m looking to make the “X-MEN” text on this poster: http://www.fatmovieguy.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/X-Men-Days-of-Future-Past-Movie-Poster.jpg

I know there might be a good bit of photoshopping overlaid on top of any Cinema work, but it’d be great if you have advice on how to create it. Do I need a chrome-like texture? Should it be gold tinted on the left? Or should I do that kind of stuff with lighting?

How do I get the super sharp filleting? I’m hoping that’s the right term.

I’m hoping that what I’m asking for isn’t actually that complex and someone could provide a walkthrough of what I want. I’d really appreciate it if you can! Thank you so much.

This should not be to hard to reproduce without tat much of post production.

Start with the beveled typo with lightly rough reflecting chrome like material.

The rest ist basically lighting, start with a plane from the front roughly the size of the text thats emmiting light as a gradient from the yellowish orange from the left to white from the right. Add two thin white emmiting planes under ond over the typo, tho top one might be lightnly tinted blue.
(See attached photoshop scribble)

So the colors won’t come from the text itself but from the things it is reflecting. Try to play with the positions ond colors of the planes maybe add some more or split then to get some dark reflections.
But after completing the first steps mentioned above you should very easily get the principle an be able to tweak it on your own. Nonetheless don’t hesitate to ask if you experience any problems.

(Can’t say much about the way to do this in C4D since i haven’t touched this for like ages)
