How to update a topology when you have layers?

#1

Hi there,

After working on a project and posing my character, I figured I would need to update the topology. Is there a way to update the topology of a subtool when you have layers? I tried GOZ but the layers get removed.

If someone can help, I would appreciate

Thx

First bake the layer(s) (you should save your ztool first as backup!), then GoZ to 3d app, modify topo, then GoZ back to zbrush. Zbrush should reproject to your new topo.

You could also duplicate the mesh that has the baked layers and store it to reproject details later after topology changes.

Sorry, it was obvious to me and I should have mentioned it. I would like to keep my layers :curious:

I’m sure you’ve probably done it by now…but I don’t think theres a quick easy way to do this.
You just gotta project individual layers one at a time onto new layers to recreate what you have from old to new geo when changing topo.
Just be sure to name everything first or it’ll just get really confusing if you have loads of layers and subtools.
