i have a similar problem,
but never been able to set it up with max2008, i was able to do it with lightwave.

i intall xtream 6, on c:/
and the plugin to work with max in c:/ plugin,
all out side any folder for max.

when i lunch max it say that can load a vue file, i clik ok and get into max with out any problem but dosnt lunch the xtream plugin.

i know that xtream 6.5 add compatibility with max 2008 but every time i want to upgrade it say that program is corrupted or something like that i try to reintall the app and then the upgrade, but still the same.

do i really need to upgrade to get it into max? or i am doing something wrong?

Thanks guys.

“do i really need to upgrade to get it into max? or i am doing something wrong?”

Yep you need to upgrade. Download the latest (6.5 build 292230), or Vue won’t work with 2008.
