How to repose mudbox figure

#1

Hi guys,

i’ve got a quick question.

when i pose a figure and import into mudbox i obviously cant use symmetry.

so should i first sculpt the model, and afterworths pose?
of should i just pose it before hand without using symmetry then…?

what is the best way? becaus i really want to keep using symmetry…

thanks,

bye

if the model is truly symmetrical…you can use tangent symmetry regardless of the pose of the character.

That way you can sculpt in default pose, import a pose of the low res mesh …and then continue sculpting.

tangent symmetry does not work, i am probably using it wrong.

i select 2 faces and then use ‘‘set topology axis’’ and then set symmetry to tangent,
but i select different faces on eacht side then on some parts.

however i did solve it in another way, but i should be done better.

i created one default pose(which is symmetrical), and import the new pose as
a new layer. i clay on the default pose and then morph to the other pose to see
the result.

which works… but i think it can be done in a better way right?
(the pose is not symmatrical but the character in general is)

there are only two ways…
tangent symmetry… wich works with a clean quad only mesh…
and import as layer…
