How to paint a forest background

Hi I am wanting to make a painting of a sort of forest or like a rainforest but I am not to sure how. I looked on google at some pictures but I start thinking how in the world could I paint something like that so detailed. I wonder could anyone give me some help please.

Hi,

depending on how your bg has to look (your decition), a good technique is to make tree brushes and paint with them the bg, what is really easy, if the brush is cool.

Found a bryce artist in the UK, check out www.ans-graphics.com/tutorials.htm he does a lot of forest / tree and landscape painting onto 3d generated images.

Thanks for the help I see thats what I was after those backgrounds are awesome. I m just not skilled enough to do something like that again thanks for the help but I just don’t have a clue how to do something that detailed.
