How to get the preview to happen in real time?

Hi people… I’ve recently encountered a problem with the preview in after effects… I dunno wether I accidently disabled some setting or something… But when I am working with compositions now, and I scroll through the timeline… As I scroll, the video footage remains on the same frame, untill I stop scrolling…

In the past… As I scrolled through the timeline of my comp, the video footage would be representative of the frames I was scrolling over. So if I scrolled from left to right of the timeline, I could effectively see the whole video in the preview… It was very usefull when this happened… However… Now for some reason I don’t seem to get this real time update as I scroll, and has consequently made things a lot more inconvenient.

How can I get it so the footage of my comp, moves in time with my scrolling through the timeline.

Even when I RAM preview and scroll through it still doesnt do it… Also I’m using CS3

Do you have an external monitor that you also use? In the video output options there’s an option to view what you do on an external monitor. If you don’t have it checked to mirror on your computer monitor you won’t see it.

Hi, thanks for your help ^^… Though I wasn’t using such a thing… I actually found out I had somehow turned ‘live update’ off… Thats why the video comp wasn’t refreshing as I scrolled through the timeline.
