I use Photoshop to color my lineart but I really like it when my pictures have very thin line art and the method I usually use is to directly trace with a 1px brush is PS but that’s really time consuming. I recently discovered I can use livetrace in Illustrator to make a clean lineart but its not always the thinnest. In fact, the lines are pretty thick. Does anyone know a trick I can use to obtain thin, clean lineart without the hassle. Its not like I have 2000 bucks to shell out for a Cintiq. Help really appreciated!
How to Get Really Thin Line Art?

hi Cindy
maybe you could give this one a go. i’ve found it very useful sometimes
http://linetracer.sourceforge.net/
another way that works sometimes (depending on the sketch) is to use Maximize filter in photoshop. not very good on noisy pencil sketches tho

^ thanks for the link, but I was playing around in illustrator and I almost got the look I wanted by adjusting the threshold and stroke lines. I’ll look into the maximize filter too :]
