But returning to main argument, I think, the main problem is to find a good DEM files. I have found DEM file from Tuscany, (Italy) but after resizing in 3DEM (with UDM projection in NAD 83) and after Import in Vue I had this result…

But I’ve done the same procedure described in tis old tutorial about DEM and Vue integration:

What version of Vue do you have? V9 and 10 can import DEM files natively and you shouldn’t have to use 3DEM for anything. If you have V9/V10 try to import straight up and see if that fixes the issue. Also, if you have a link to the dem file, I could see what I could do with it.

Edit: if you download .DDF files, then you can use sdts2dem to convert them to one dem file.

What version of Vue do you have?

I have Vue 9.5 and 10 PLE.

If you have V9/V10 try to import straight up and see if that fixes the issue.

Do you mind I have to import DEM without UTM projection (NAD83) done in 3DEM?
Good but in my case I have some of files with different extetions (typic about DEM files= like .HGT, DMED, .AVG, .dt0 etc…
therefore I can NOT import that directly in Vue but I have to convert these files in .DEM by software 3DEM.

Also, if you have a link to the dem file, I could see what I could do with it.

I found some SRTM (Dem. hgt. ecc, files about Tuscany and Italy territories) in Internet. If you have a ftp o an email I could sent you some of theme.

Hi eworc, very important for me is to know if these filers have a good quality (and just me can utilize them in Vue…) or if those files are not so good for a “Vue terrain reconstruction”.

Sorry, I have been busy of late and my free time was distracted with the Sidefx H12 HD conversation. I’ll take a look at the meshes when I get home tonight.

Hope the files and tips were of some use. I played around with it more and since I don’t know enough about Vue I just copied the Toscana dem and moved it around as background filler.
