How to copy animation curves from one control to another quickly?

#1

Hello,

I was just wondering how you guys copy animation curve from the Graph Editor quickly?
Right now, I do it one curve at a time like Rotate X, select the whole curve then copy it to the other control I which to copy it to.

It’s a really long process for something that should be easy. Does anyone have a trick for this?

Hi Feast ,

there is one quick trick which i use, you can actually copy animation from Time Slider .
select source control which is already animated, double click the time Slider to select all keys ,
right click on time slider > copy,
select destination control ,double click time Slider it turns red ,
right click on time slider > paste… and done.!
I think this is the fastest way to copy anim within a scene from one control to another .

Hey thanks Ranjith, it’s pretty fast!

I found that you don’t have to double click to paste and also that you can use Ctrl + V to paste, but the copying’s Ctrl + C doesn’t work for some reason.

using ctrl + v to paste will clear the undo queue in Maya ,that means you can’t go back to the point before ctrl + v . so i prefer double click to paste.
and copying something in Maya is based on selection ,so from time slider it helps to copy only selected animCurve nodes , to use ctrl + c make sure you select animcurve nodes.

You can do it in the channelbox as well. Just copy and paste the selected channels.
