How to apply Mixamo FBX animation to human IK rigged character in maya 2017

I have a pre-existing character with a skeleton that I have set up through HumanIK by assigning each bone manually. I can retarget animation like the default ‘dummy fight’ through human ik on to this model. I have some mocap samples from MIxamo as FBX files that I want to target to this character. When I import the FBX animation it creates a new skeleton in my outliner with the mixamo animation applied. What I can’t figure out, is how to target the animation from the mixamo skeleton onto my existing human IK character.
