could something tell me how this could be done in Maya ?..

please pleaseeeeee i need to know that . where can i get a shader like those .

or the technique…some tutorials maybe? .

PLEASE!! i love that effect. i have one made in after effects , here : http://www.joemarella.com
that blue wave is actually made in after effects only  . by me lol ,but well, i wonder if
i could do this http://www.highend3d.com/gallery/gallerylarge.php?id=70 in maya … to make it look
just like it !

thanks in advance!! .
cheers!

Maya… i’m not sure how to do it in there.

However, you are deffinitly looking at a fractual there :). Google Apophysis. It’s a fractual program to make stuff like that.

#3

maybe using a long exposure time and a fast and somewhat randomised animated object that als has shader params animated? Looks kinda cool, almost like caustics.

#4

You could do that with Paint FX.

#5

AFAIC, this is done using a plugin for After Effects (free) Flame.
It is similar to the KTP 5 FRAXFLAME

Yep, that’s no doubt a fraxflame, Apophysis should do the trick.

Ahh, this is Dr baily’s work, his stuff is amazing. And btw im sure he built the software to render it. Its particle based but with something like 300 million particles.

heres what the dr says for that pic:

Ultra high-speed rendering engine, this image constructed from approximately 400,000,000 particles. Standalone proprietary renderer and instruction language, coded in c++. Image rendered on SGI. This is a still from an animated sequence.

here is simple and easy way to do it in maya… create nurbs planes - make shaders transparent and put ramps to incadenence…

i just made this example up in about ten mins - looks like ass really… but you get the idea

Hey Dr. Baily!! My sister-in-law is his assistant. I’ve never met him as they live in LA but I’ve heard a lot about him.

By the way, another very cool technique involves using caustices. You can set up a few odd shaped, colored glass objects and project caustics onto a white plane. Looks very cool:

Err…
You sure proved my ignorance here, thanks for the info, he’s got great stuff on his site.
I love abstract images (especialy when they’re 3D and can be controlled and animated in 3D space)

#13

Hehe, dont worry. Ive just known about his stuff for ages - old skool! Back in the early days of deathfall and highend 3d.
