How should i connect a texture file with shader mi_car_paint_phen?

I really have no idea. I try to connect it with base colour but the colour seem to wash out after render.

Are you using a proper linear workflow?

In short, your renders will not look as good and will be physically inaccurate if you do not work this way in maya/mental ray.
