How do you know which node goes to which group

Ive finished to rig a character and seeing my outliner, its a huge mess:D. my character is not globally scalable obviously but how to nicely arrange them into groups. so that it is globally scalable. i have the following things in my rig: mesh ribbon for spine constraints locators and groups ik handles coltroller objects im confused how to organize them.
once i tried grouping all the same nodes into a seperate groups and that did not work well:sad:
any help would be:cool:cool!
