This is probably a really silly question, but how do you drag elements like the Drag tool in Lightwave Modeler?
It’s a tough one to search through old posts to find the answer, as the word “drag” comes up in so many other things.

‘Element Move’ works the same but with more options… it’s like ‘Drag’ and ‘Dragnet’ at the same time but in any modes (edge, poly, vertice).

Thanks very much for your help, Ripper. Much appreciated. I’ve only had Modo a couple of days, so I’m still finding my way.
I just tried the Element Move tool, as you suggested. It’s fantastic! Why didn’t anyone think of inventing that before? Much more efficient than the Drag tool in Lightwave. It’s now so easy to drag points, edges or polygons without having to switch between modes.
i don’t know why no one mentioned this before, but actually there is a true drag tool in modo, not combination of snap, falloff, move and action.
u can find a command tool “drag” in the form editor.
go to form editor/vertical toolbars/transform tools/drag
duplicate it, and move it to the desired section.
enjoy dragging.
one more thing, may u want to have a snap dragging ala lightwave too, all u have to do, is activate geometry snap with drag tool, and there u r.
Yes you’re right vuedesprit but the command doesn’t appear in the default layout, you have to add the command ‘tool.set xfrm.drag on’ to your layout… I find the ‘Element Move’ function more useful though!

I’m with The Ripper on this one. Element move tool is so good it hurts
oh and btw, the shortcut key for the element move tool is ctrl-t
