i remember seeing a brilliant rigging demoreel done in xsi, in which the author shows a realtime rig with fairly intuitive controls. but i can find it nowhere now.

The video you might be thinking of is probably Helge’s ICE demos.
This exact same thread was started not too long ago and had a fair few replies in it.
I’m closing this thread for now, please run a search and revive the old thread if you need more insight into it, that way info stays topical and contained and everybody (including the search engine) has an easier life.
