how do i globally change one color on a layer?

#1

Painter IX.5 on Vista.

I have a normal layer with a liquid ink outline (I transformed the liquid ink layer into a normal one, don’t know the english name of this command - it’s in the layer’s context menu).

Now, this ink outline is black, the rest of the layer is transparent.

How can I change the black of this outline to another hue+value+saturation? I tried colour correction, but it leaves the black unaffected. Is there any way to do this?

thanks for reading

The english name is ‘commit’

You can check the box ‘preserve transparency’ on layer palette and fill the layer with the color you want. Once black outline is replaced by a mid value, the color correction will work.
I assume your outline is black only

thanks very much!

I guessed that it had to do with my line being pure black, but didn’t know how to lighten it up!

Thanks also for the translation.

Here is the latest wip:

I know that is not the right place but here some advices about lighting consistency:
-I can see in ‘1’ that the main light is located at top right, so the highlights are on the top of any convex surfaces. But I can see reflections in ‘2’ which do not seem logical. The waist is concave so it may be painted as you did with the bottom of her calf. The reflection on her thigh may be located above where you painted it.
-there are really dark areas in ‘3’ which are inconsistent considering her forearm or ‘4’.

Hey Hecartha,

thanks a lot for the paintover. I think you’re right about the highlights on the thigh.

As concerns the dark areas compared to the forearm - here the forearm might be the actual problem. On my reference photo there was a lot frontal hard flash light and I needed to emulate the top right light for most parts. I think I just forgot to adjust the frontal hard light on that forearm to my imaginary top right light (the arm would be as dark as those other parts you mentioned).

Thanks again for the effort!
