HMC #28: Comic Book Master Tribute - Mignola style Tintin

I wanted to do something in tribute to Mignola who is very awesome and tried to think of another set of comic characters to use as a base and, well, I think that Herge’s cast of characters in Tintin is both topical (with the Movie in production) and could meld well.

The rough plan at the moment is to sketch out a bundle of the Tin Tin characters in a Mignola-esque style and then work my way through them as solidly as possible. Hopefully I’ll enter the category for multiple characters working through Tintin, Snowy, Captain Haddock, Professor Calculus, Thompson & Thompson, Bianca Castafiore and/or any others I find interesting.

Part inspiration for doing Mignola in 3D comes from a recent project I’ve been working on in conjunction with the fabulousBlack and White Batman model that was posted in the references thread.

Well, time to go start doing some sketching!

With the movie looking like crap in my book, I am very tempted myself to attempt doing a Tintin that captures the original comic-book charm. Man, I cant recount how many times I have read those stories. lol
