Just finishing up a project over the next couple days and will get to work after that.
Hopefully I can finish this one. I always say that, but RL always seems to get in the way. And I’ll have to think up a Far Side gag too

Hehe thanks guys. Just wrapping up my project tonight, and I’ve been looking at Far Side comics since last night, lmfao to say the least. Hard to come up with my own, though. I’m hoping something will fall into my lap. I may just recreate a gag if I find one that is superhero-y enough.

So I`ve given some thought as to the direction I’d like and just wanted to get my thoughts down.
First idea was to do a gag on robin’s sexual ambiguity, but then realized that that kind of joke really wasn’t very larsonesque.
Then I thought of doing something with wolverine on his day off, roasting shishkabobs skewered on his claws over a barbecue. Much more larsonesque.
Then I thought of recreating this:
Only it would be Xavier’s institute for higher learning instead of the Midvale school for the gifted, and instead of a nerdy kid trying to push it would be jean grey trying to push with her kinetic powers.
And finally mysterio revealing his true identity, and there would be a goldfish in his glass dome.
Anyway I’ll start some sketches tonight.
I’m not going to bother posting a reference sheet this time around. A simple search on google images for farside yields a reference sheet that can be scolled into infinity, it seems. Regardless, the character will have to be chubby because all of Larson’s characters have some weight to them. It’s really too bad that there isn’t a super-hero cow. That would be so Iconic!

Ok, a few quick sketches to try and capture Larson’s style. There pretty crappy, but I think I caught it, if not very refined. Will try some sketches in zb now to see how they translate.

Zb character test to see if the characters can translate. This is NOT a basemesh and has already been tossed away.
I think it works, so, next step will be to plunge headlong. I’m torn between mysterio and the school for the gifted with gene grey. I’ll have to give it some thought over the weekend and dive in. I’ve got a really busy month already. I really hope I can make it through this one.

Hmmm I was giving this more thought I don’t think this is going to work as well as I want it to. I’ll start up a new thread with a fresh idea in the next couple days and take it from there.
