BrettSinclair: cheers matey!

Nothingness: haha be patient man, I’m just working on this a few hours every day when I get home, after work… :hmm: thanks!

This is the first attempt, I’ve just created some very simple base mesh, subdivided a couple of times, started working on the shapes, proportions. I’m gonna retopologize this mesh so I can start working seriously on the model, looong way to go…

cheers!

aha

great

just a little question: you have some great tims for retopo projection in zbrush?
I need to do some good reprojection of my model onto a retopolized mesh. Problem is so far
i only have a few parts that i need to do on a whole mesh. They don’t really align. And i’m wondering if i need to subdivide the mesh to be projected on first.

i’ll have some fun later. Looking forward to more.

cheers

To be honest, I’m not that much into the retopo… I used to get some problems with early versions of zbrush, I havent tried retop with the new version yet. I heard that retopo with 3dcoat is quite fast and easy, so I’ll give it a try.
you can find it here: 3dcoat

nice start,
Im sure this is gonna be impressive =)

#11

yeah,

i already tried it. It’s fun i must admit. But one time i lost about everything and couldn’t even open the file anymore. So i stopped using it. It was the timed version anyway. I hope they resolved it already. Will be looking forward to trying topogun. But i’m on a mac so need to be patient for certain softs.

cheers

It’s pretty labor intensive but I liked the process for the most part. For a while I had to have a cheat sheet to keep the shortcuts fresh in my mind.

Doing a retopo in zbrush is labour intensive indeed. But it’s retopo with another imported mesh that sucks bad. Via GoZ on mac it was rather fun. But sometimes it’s a real pain as well.
