HMC 22: Classic Self Portrait: Tony Szkultecki

I wanted to get my thread started but I haven’t decided on what classic work of art I am going to use.

I was thinking about St. George by Donatello. I’ve always like this sculpture and Donatello is my favorite Ninja Turtle.

I got started on my head. From the front I think the forehead looks a bit high, but I think it might be alright from the side view. Might Just looks like a big forehead from the slope of my head.

Nice start here. Only thing I would say is that the face looks either a little to thin, or a little to tall compared to your photo.

The modeling of your nose is almost spot on already. It will be even better when it is modeled with some asymmetry in your sculpt.

I’m not going to be able to complete this HMC. Lots of life issues got in the way in the last couple weeks, but all good ones. Move into a new apartment that doesn’t have mold everywhere. And got hired at a Archviz company in Melbourne.

I’ll post what I have done so far later today.
