Next up, posing. I want the pose to be stylish and yet powerful. Any suggestions on that?

#22

OMG! That is fantastic!

Both the character and the jetpack are marvelous.

#23

This is great, you have done alot in a short amount of time. I’m not sure about the scale of the jet pack though, that would not be fun to carry around…if it was even possible to left…awesome attention to detail, I wish I was this good haha.

#24

woh… nice addition , the jetpack luuks cool… it might be little too heavy for that lady … and she must have some nice n strong straps to hold it … gud job …
any plans about wat pose are you gonna give ??

#25

Pablo, Thank you. Hagen, TY. I initially had the jetpack even bigger, and now I’ve scaled it down. Looks like it is still big. I’ll scale it down even more. Sanket, TY. I have modelled some support for the jetpack- There is a cushion behind her back, and also a support beam for her lower back. The straps are thin, but have a decent amount of cushioning on the shoulders, So guess, that should be allright.

#26

Hi vikram…
well … i agree with you on the cushion and support thing , but wat i was thinking about was the strength of those straps … the comfort and support has been taken care of nicely, but wat about the holding power for the jetpack…i think the straps should be big thick and strong …
may be this image can help you

…its shud not be exactly of this type… but somewat near to this … again …that is just my opinion. rest all gud going …

I have had to carry a large back pack before for extended periods of time the key for me speaking as a girl was carrying that weight was the waist strap. Having the weight of the pack distributed on mid section of the body vs the top and on my hips vs the shoulders was the only way I could carry it over long periods of time.

#28

Sanket, Alanise, I really really appreciate your effort of collecting reference images for me. I have finally narrowed down on a pose for a character. I’m starting to transpose the model, one subtool at a time because, for some weird reason, zbrush shuts down abruptly if I use the transpose master. I guess my computer is not able to handle the sheer amount of polygons in the scene. Anyway, I’ll post updates soon.

#29

Bummer, I’ve had the exact issue before. Attempt to use transpose master and the program dies, I wish it worked a bit better.

Anyway I’m curious, you sculpted the laces on the boots also? You must be at a very high poly count.

#30

Wyatt, Thanks for the reply. The shoes contain 5 subtools,- the shoes, lace, sole, buttons on the lace, and the fastening belt. :).I’ll post snapshots soon.

#31

In my Opinion her jet pack is the right size. Personally I would even scale it up. A large size to me implies an older technology, and it would also be much more physically accurate when considering the size of the human it has to lift.

Looks freakin’ awesome right now, though. Keep up the great work.

#32

Joel, Thanks for the reply. guess, you are right. I am going to keep it at this size. Anyway, here is a turnaround of the shoes. It’s still got some tweaking left, and it’s in pose. That is why the weird angle in the front render. I’ll post renders of the pose soon.

#33

Your attention to detail is superb vikram. I detect a little Ryan kingslien stitching going on there. His tuts are so incredibly helpful and his techniques are not to be ignored, as the results are fantastic when applied. Great job yet again!

#34

Amazing figure! The detail is just superb. Are you going to texture her at some point?

Looking forward to the pose.

#35

Thanks for the replies, guys…Ryan kingslen is indeed a great artist, sculptor and tutor. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen his dvd’s, but his methods seem to involuntarily show in a lot of artists, including me. Owen, thank you for dropping by. I will post the pose soon.

#36

Yeah, yeah, nice boots! Nothing to crit. I know what a nightmare laces can be so  to you.

#37

wow…i love this!:surprised

#38

Your model is very impressive, the best queen so far in my opinion. Looking forward to the final pose.

#39

Hey guys, thank you so much for your kind words. It means a lot to me. Wyatt, James and James, Thank you guys. Here is pose. I’ve had so much trouble setting this up, and thats the reason for the delay. I had planned to decimate all subtools, export and render them out in max. Max imported them one by one pretty well, but would never render the scene out. I didn’t have the patience to render it layer by layer. So here is a render out of zbrush. I will be trying to render it out of max, by retopologizing the mesh, and rendering out normal maps.

Anyway, here is what I have right now, a pose plus photoshopped cigarette. What do you guys think.

Her pose looks pretty good to me. You may want to square her shoulders some more. I’m thinking of her with a stronger stance.

Honestly, I have no idea what that thing in her left hand is. She’s wearing her goggles on her head so that must not be it.

Looking great!
