HMC #21: QOTR - The Pirate airfleet

#21

Hi there!

Since finally nobody is working in some retro-robot, I started doing one myself, and it will incorporate the idea I have for a jetpack.

I don’t have any concept art for this, besides the idea of having vacuum tubes protruding from the robot’s head, shock absorbers on the lower legs (not yet modelled), the left hand will be a tipical claw like on toy robots while the right hand will be more articulated, and put a gyroscope somewhere (maybe in the abdomen). And it will be holding a machine gun similar to this german one:

And here’s the progress so far:

Some advance, hands finished and some work done on the hip area

Also, last saturday I found this great image by DeviantArt user Giacobino (wish I had found it earlier… great source of inspiration nontheless) :

luking nice !!

Thanks Punk and Sanket!

Well, the robot is finished, only a few details left like some gauges and more stuff on it’s head.
Right now it looks more like a comic relief character than a menacing pirate robot :stuck_out_tongue:

I hope that change at least a little with the jetpack and the machine gun.

#26

Some progress with the jetpack, I choose to put the jets on the wingtips and make the wings fold when not flying:

The folding mechanism will be something simmilar to this:

#27

Machine gun done, I simplified the design a little: no bipod, no barrel change mechanism, a simpler stock, etc.

#28

This is looking great with materials and textures!! keep it up!!

#29

Thx japetus!

Finished the robot (I scaled it to be almost 3m tall):

I’ll move to the airship carrier again and try to apply textures to it.
