I think you are doing a great job on the model, I just have a hard time looking at Madonna.
Can’t give you too much advice on those programs. Good luck on the disp. maps I hope you work it out.

So she gets her rocker top hat :S
Retopo going fine not sure if I’m using a low poly head when I already have a usable sculpt.
In other words having technical difficulties and not sure what approach to take yet.
Hopefully will find out as it goes and meet the deadline.
Haveing a lot of fun finishing Maddy for now
@ WyattHarris Thanks for the comment.
Yeh have to work out a nice workflow for this happy just finishing Madonna up for now.

So she gets to wear her hat a little
@ BrettSinclair Thanks Brett. Shia looking cool too by the way.

Makes me think of the Jaws theme for some reason
So a brand new set of teeth for Madonna?
Hopefully it’ll fit with the face.
I’d say a good day’s work. I’ve really been lazy lately.
hehe classy hat
The ear looks a bit wobbly - more like it’s made of clay there… Try refining the edges - ears have pretty hard/sharp edges all over the place and the shapes are rather defined.

And so the parts start coming together.
Yes I think she needs more work still like eyelashes a little more detail etc etc
Oh yes and have I been talking about a retopo.
I hope that part isn’t just talk cause I’d really like to have low poly Madonna for animation.
Yes thanks for the comment Magdy.
I was thinking that – now you said it --and I already worked on them a bit more.
It really felt a bit like I was blocking in some volume using clay
Silo really isn’t bad but I’d still love to move up to ZBrush some day.

Madonna zombie version. Looks like the poly count will be quite manageable.
Sorry not for the faint hearted. Um.

Match check. I don’t think I need to move much around now.
It all seems to somewhat match.
hi Spin99, your Madonna looks great!
wires look like they match perfectly to the photo, but beware that the FOV in 3d might be different.
looking forward to her expressions
** WIP IMAGE REMOVED UGHH **
The base gets a little finer and more detailed.
Believe it or not I’m modeling the inside of her eyes and her throat.
Yes taking ages and I’ll have the panic attack later this week (halfway in!!)
@ Omnilight Thanks Omnilight.
Yes I’ll have to be careful with the camera I think.
Let’s see if I get around to the expressions bit on time.
I really want to see what kind of rig is possible with a head.
Could be even more fun to play with later.
Looks very elegant, I like it. The one area that doesn’t line up on your wire overlay is the top of her head. Where her parting is, you can see her scalp, and yours is a bit shorter than that. I know you can’t trust those overlays, but when I look at the sculpt by itself it feels like maybe she has room for a bit more skull there.
Haha I just remembered she’s wearing a hat
Alright, forget it man, nice work!

@ LordMcGoat Perspective and all maybe her skull is just a little too short?
Hopefully not giving her a helmet head. But she is wearing one anyway?
Actually I’m only getting anxiety to get the sculpting done with already.
Please note the eyes are definitely not finished and really still sketchy at this stage.
I’m adding mesh sculpting adding mesh sculpting at this stage still.
Wait I do see the scalp now. THANKS!
I’ll see if I can update soon.

Somehow I think FOV starts coming into play here.
Making her head taller simply doesn’t look right.
So I’m sticking to perspective view a lot more for the last bit.
Yes I'm pretty sure ortho views create distortions when working over a photo.
So note to self -- Heads are not as tall in perspective as in ortographic view.
There probably are other differences too.
Maybe the chin should be higher too? Anyone else welcome to comment.
Hey Spin99, one thing that helps A LOT are the basic proportions of the human head. It’s almost the same for any person, for example, the eyes have to be exactly in the middle of the head and the head is five eyes wide (check all this in the ortho view)
This way you get the correct size for the head. Also don’t forget that even if the wireframe is over the photo and everything seems to match, it’s often misleading for lots of reasons, like incorrect FOV, incorrect alignment of the model, asymmetry, quality of the references etc
@ Fabio Doná Thanks for the comment.
Yes I agree on proportions and the FOV dilemma.
On my current viewport and in perspective the head really looks fine.
Eye spacing is according to reference where to me it seems Madonna
has very slightly closer eyes than one eye spacing between them.
But I really haven’t presented them finished yet.
The reason I haven’t moved the scalp up is that it simply starts looking wrong.
I definitely tried. Also the chin seems to look right with a slight adjustment.
So I’m looking at the perspective viewport and doing minor changes as needed.
