I’ve decided to do the expressions in passes - I’ll make the first one on each and then go over all of them again at the end… this will ensure I get all the 15 faces covered and at least a few finished :slight_smile: I hope :wink:
I’m mostly using a mirror as a resource - but I’ll certainly not post any snaps here :argh:

Man, this little devil is cool. Expression is lacking fear, though, but as you said you will take it in passes. Right now I find he just looks disgusted. ie as if he were saying “Eww! What the f*** is that!” Still looks awesome, though.

I think you misunderstood.
I meant Mephi is expected to show horrible scary terrifying expressions of his evilness.
Not get scared like that.

So I expect him to go nasty later kind of, he's just practising?
But this side I'll say it again, I see fear on his frown. 
Not hatred. To me that's pretty impressive ;)

So don’t change it because of me. Pleeeez

hehe oh I’ll give him scary and nasty expressions too but I need 15 and I can’t do 15 versions of angry or scheming :wink: - must have more variety than that LOL - thought it would be funny to have him scared too

Well, with him facing straight into the camera like that my first thought was ‘Deer in the Headlights’. So yeah, I like the fear. :thumbsup:

Fear is a tough one I imagine. But I think maybe his eyebrows could be raised in the middle At the moment they are slopping towards the bridge of the nose.
But then I’m not sure thats fear( with the brows up:hmm:).
Fear is the anticipation of something scary. Hmm. How to show that with out animation…

Brett - yeah I’ve looked at some refs and at my face and they differ - there are people who express fear with their eyebrows up like surprise and some draw them in towards the middle… like they’re cowering… grr it’s not simple - I’ll get on to more straightforward things next I think :wink: and call this one WTF?! :wink:

Just great work! I love watching all the character modeler threads. You really have some impressive skills. There is definitely life behind that face already. Can’t wait to see more.

My instant impression before reading what it was (I was sitting here squinting at the screen so I wouldn’t accidentally read it…) was fear. I think you’re close with that. Having no idea how to model fear on a face that’s about as much as I can say about that. But I’m having a good time following the thread anyway :slight_smile:

Fear is pretty hard to do, and it comes close. I might relax the brow furrow a little bit, with them so scrunched it almost looks like the expression is skirting the edge of anger or confusion. Maybe something like this?
