HMC #20 - Expressions - Fantasy Character

#21

Back at you Magdalena
Loving your idea, I think you’ll have a wonderful range of scary/evil/nasty expressions
to play with? Like the evil laugh. The scary look etc etc hee hee

From the beginning I’d been telling myself this is going to be a lot of work
teeth gums throat and all arghh.

Model looks really nice and clean, Pacino type a great Mephisto I’m sure.
Best to you.

Great entry Magdalena.
First I wanted to do the same, until I saw your entry, maybe the sculpt who inspired me can help you.
Here is the link Mefisto.
I will definitly check your thread, it promise to be really good.

Good luck, if luck has anything to do here

#24

Woah, your rocketing along. Nice sofar. No crits.

#25

Brett - thanks

TheRazorsEdge - thanks for the crit - I know what you mean, I’ve had that once before too - this one’s a bit below the crease so it should work… hopefully

delavega - thanks

Spin99 - thanks

PrayingMantis - thanks - really beautiful sculpture there, haven’t seen it before! thanks for the link

rasmusW - thank you

Airflow - nah hehe thanks

Sorry for no updates lately. Totally crazy week at work + life got in the way… Hopefully will get more done over the weekend… For now some loose Zbrush work on the base to get the basic features in… I’ll add the little beard and eyebrows later on, once the face’s done as a separate layer - so none of those here

#26

yeah! was starting to get worried, not seeing any updates on this one.
now i can relax. great update. love the feel of your characters.

Excellent Magdalena, you can really feel the flesh on it.
It’s really beautiful.

#28

Maggy, this looks great! Such an expressive mouth, nice!

#29

looking great mag :bounce: keep it up !

#30

Nice start, and faster work as always  I like the concept and the references of Al P. in this work. Q: will you go for a photorealistic likeness? cheers.

#31

You make it look so easy!

This time i’m gonna stay off sculpting and practice my basic modeling skills.

#32

Finally an update:thumbsup: , even at a neutral pose, the character shows personality and life…the guy is just there.

Yeah, it´s like when you see people like Federer for example. They do what they do like if it is a real simple thing…but it isn´t.

Cheers.

#33

I want to say that your art work always looks great. I can’t wait to see your excellent zbrush skills.

#34

great progress Magdalena! This is a very nice face!
Can’t wait to see expressions on that guy! =)

#35

wow thanks so much for all the flattery - I’m sure I don’t deserve that!

rasmusW - yeah I know I was worried too

PrayingMantis - thank you very much for the kind words

Jelmer - thanks

collings - thanks Nick

stridiggio - thank you. No I’m not doing an Al likeness nor anyone else’s for that matter - he’s just a ref point. I’m not interested in a realistic render as well - I have a different plan for this guy

Nothingness - nah, not easy trust me

JMART - gosh way too kind I’m sure!

shin4 - Thank you!

turx - thanks a lot

a little update - I dont’ want to do too many wrinkles and realistic details on this model, as I’m aiming for a sculpture render at the end - so I think I’ll leave the base at that and move on to the expressions:
[sorry couldn’t resist that silly gradient on top ;)]

#36

Hey looking very cool :arteest:

#37

really cool head mag, can’t wait to see the expressions now :arteest:

#38

Very cool. So next step expressions. Your fast! haha.

#39

Awesome, like previously said… you make it look easy… and we all hate you for that lol.

Seriously though, looking great, can’t wait to see some of his expressions!

#40

Looks awesome! Your model developed fast! Can’t wait to see more…
