Hi

My name is Ian and I am a Business Software Consultant…Hi My name is Ian and I am a Business Software Consultant.

I guess that wasn’t too hard for me to say, so maybe I am already on the road to recovery.

For many years, I have been a fan of Fantasy Art and admired those of you that can bring to life the wonders of the imagination. Gradually, over time, I have seen more and more software appear to help the digital artist and longed to be able to try to do similar. I have learned Photoshop and did do a freehand Anime Drawing class, but seeing the beautifully illustrated books out there, I want to do more.

So here I am, a complete newbie amongst the most skilled artists around, just satisfied at the moment to be amongst them, but I want to learn. I want to shed my boring business background and learn to draw and paint, but where do I start?

What do you recommend, basic drawing classes at colleges, software training courses or something else. I would love to get some advice but either way I know I am now in the right community and I know what I want.

Thank you for having me.

were in the same boat man! Im still a college student though. still new, still learning.

quite a feat in changing!

For me, I’d say experiments in doing arts, “what would happen if I do this…whoa! how about this? whoa! and if I add that technique to this. Crazy!” probably one of the ways to discover a personal style. its good to discover what u can do with what u have currently, before buying anything.

Welcome!
