I’m the new Courses and Schools Forum Leader. I used to run CGWorkshops, but have now left that task to the wonderful and extremely able Zoe Doherty-Dawson, and I currently run the in-house Graduate Certificate program at Rising Sun Pictures .
I’m looking forward to logging in and helping you answer your training questions as best I can.
Welcome to your new appointment and good luck with everything.
I have a quick question regarding the Graduate Certificate program at Rising Sun Pictures.
Who qualifies for this? Can foreign graduates, who obtain an Australian work and travel visa, apply for this for example? It sounds like a great opportunity I’d love to recommend to my students but am wondering if you consider applicants who are not local?
Thanks Dillster! I’m loving my new role at the moment! It’s really busy because we’re growing, but that’s a good thing. In answer to your question, yes, foreign students can take this course. Because it’s under 12 weeks, you don’t need a student visa if you’re a foreign student, you can come in on a tourist visa. We accept students on the basis of their reels - they would need to demonstrate basic skills in Nuke and maybe some tracking, or other entry level skills. We only take a maximum of 10 students each time, and the students “live” with the team here at Rising Sun. We teach them, they come to meetings, have lunch with us, drinks on Friday nights etc. Hope that helps! If you need anymore info for your students Dillster PM me and I’ll give you my contact details
