Hi I am a newcomer to this place and I am looking for some "learn to draw" direction

#1

Hi,
As I am new here I am unfamiliar with the specific organisation of this forum. I did give the FAQ (read before you post) topic a quick look but didnt see some directions in reguards to my question. I guess this question has been asked a couple times and I am just looking for a pointer or two towards the right information so I Can read through it for myself. The thing is that I am wanting to learn to draw from the basic up.

Seeing as I am new here I might aswell introduce myself a bit.
I have worked quite alot with photoshop in terms of picture editing, picture enhancement have “an ease” with 3 dimensional images (worked a bit with autocad doing 3d blueprints although nothing advanced) I am eventually looking to getting into 3d animation but I feel I must first start with learning how to draw as I would be limited as an artist if I didnt go this route first. I belive I have a eye for detail (or atleast so I have been told). I saw a movie on youtube today of someone doing a drawing of someone in LOST I was absolutley stunned and just knew that I want to learn to draw and that it is way time to get started (I always wanted to do 3d graphics).

I usually try very hard to find this information for myself but I am a bit short of time since I am getting deployed overseas in about a months time and I am looking to be set up with “learning to draw” package prior to my deployment so I can work at it during my deployment.

Thank you for your time and help
-Tobias

Edit:
I managed to save down the apple tutorial excersize, I will hopefully have the time to finish it during this weeks training. I dont have access to the internet alot when im in uniform and I wonder if these tutorial/excersizes (and more?) are available on a dvd for purchase?

Regards
Tobias
