Hey Guys , can someone help me out with this eyes moving out of head problem?

#1

So basically this is my first rig that ive made and the eyes and inner mouth of my character dont move along with the head properly, they seem to pop out as i move the head. I have tried parenting the eyes and their lattices to my head control joint but their is still an issue of them popping out. What could i do to fix this?

Here’s a vid of my rig http://youtu.be/osU4fjKpVXQ

Hi,

Maybe try making lattice around both top and bottom teeth. Also maybe try adjusting pivots of teeth so a positive vertical scale on both teeth opens teeth up and negative closes both teeth.

Try wrap deformer by select lattice of teeth then geometry then create deformers > wrap > points. Try the smallest min distance that works.

Then set geo blendshape (if one is created to open) then select geo and tweak dropoff, and smoothness to where teeth seems to follow well.

Then set driven keys can adjust teeth opening/closing and line by driving the scales of the teeth geometry.

I may have made some mistakes in explanation.

Nate

Hi!
Its a double deformation happening. Hope parenting the lattice base alone to the head ctrl if the lattice is skinned to the head joint will solve the pblm.

Yup! You have yourself a double deformation. I just recently had this problem where my eyebrows were doing the same thing. What was going on was the eyebrows were parented under my head joint while skinned to the head joint at the same time. So my eyebrows were being run by the parent and the skin causing the results to double. An easy fix would be to get rid of either the parent or the skin.
