Hey guys. So I just started making a submarine in blender (I’m a beginner) and I started to make a railing for it. Obviously I made it out of a cylinder. Then I made a new cylinder (shift+a) and put it right next to the first cylinder I made. Now whenever I try to select only one of them, and move it around, they both move together. When I rename one, the name stays like that with all the cylinders. How do I make each cylinder independent? PLEASE help!?
Help with parenting in blender?

Hi
Youve used the shift+a command in edit mode this just add to the current object and does not create a new object. If you had used shift+a in object mode you would have created a new object which seems to be what you have intended to do.
However you can easily fix this in edit mode by pressing p this will bring up a new menu where you have the following choices to separate:
selection,
by material
by loose parts.
In your case choose by loose parts. This because you created two cylinders that is not connected to each other.
If you would have created more parts that you do not want to become separate objects then you could use the by selection option. In that case you first select what you want to separate and then press p and choose by selection now the selection will have become a new object.
if you press p in object mode you will start something totally different just press Esc if you make this mistake.
