Help/suggestions for first system build

Hi, I am looking to build a system for general 3d work. I’ll be using maya, zbrush, 3ds max, lightwave, photoshop etc etc. Modelling/sculpting is my main focus. budget is £2000 maximum. This is what i have in mind, thoughts/suggestions?

Case - Fractal Design Define R4, Arctic White, USB3, Built in Acoustic Soundproofing
Mobo - Gigabyte GA-Z87-HD3, Intel Z87 Chipset
CPU - Intel Core i7 4770K, Haswell, 3.5GHz (Overclocked to 4.2 GHz), 8MB Cache
CPU Cooler - Corsair H80i Hydro Series
Memory - 8GB (2x4GB) Corsair Vengeance Pro Silver, 2133MHz
or 16GB Total (2x8GB) Corsair Vengeance LP, 1600MHz
GPU - 3GB XFX Radeon HD 7970, 925MHz GPU, 2048 Cores, 5500MHz GDDR5
PSU - 650W Corsair Enthusiast Series, Modular, 80PLUS Bronze
SSD - 128GB Samsung 840 Pro, Read 530MB/s, Write 390MB/s
HDD - 2TB Seagate Barracuda, SATA 6Gb/s, 7200rpm, 64MB Cache

EDIT: forgot to include cost for this system - £1,234.75

Thank you mattmos. I have very little time to myself to properly research this (doing so at work for the time being) The knowledge i have and that i am applying to this build i got mostly from reading through these forums as well as a few others. I must have skipped by the thread you linked me to in my haste to find some reference. That thread did help me though :slight_smile:
