Hello!

For the past few days I’ve been trying to sort of mimic the shader and effect of the red blood cells found in the following picture in Mental Ray for an animation I’ve been working on, but so far I’ve been pretty much unsuccessful. I would really appreciate any advice you could offer me in getting the anticipated results.

You could use a ramp texture that goes from red to white, along with a Sampler Info node’s “Facing Ratio” channel. Just like fresnel or incidence angle.
