Help on making a seamless texture

#1

I just can’t seem to make the tiling of this ceramic pattern right. Every time I use the offset tool I end with a ugly seam that seems too much hard work, there’s gotta be a simpler way.

Any tips, please ?

Hi Ive done it for you.

Its not 100% perfect but it should do the job. Heres an example with 5x tilting in both x and y direction:

I just used the clone tool and kept offsetting the image. It kept having a seam for me as well everytime I fixed the seam then offset. It took about 5 offsets to get it right

Hope this ok for you

That’s great, thanks very much, but I don’t think it will fit for the purpose. I’m trying to replicate the attached image. It’s the second time I’m having a problem with a floor like this. Perhaps Floor Generator could help ?

Yes floor generator would do a good job. If you use just make sure you use a wood texture that doesnt have planks on it otherwise it will look strange in the render.

I was thinking on using Floor Generator with a ceramic texture. Guess the principle it’s still applicable.

What softare are you using? Because in 3DS Max you could use the tiles procedural map to achieve what I think you are goin for. You could use it as a displacement map to get the planks then use another diffuse texture for the colour you want to achieve

Thanks so much! Didn’t know of Tiles procedural map, that’s perfect for what I’m trying to achieve. I tend to forget about procedural maps. :frowning:

Great glad I could help!
