Help Needed For A Game Developpement

#1

Hi,

Dirty Racer is one of the four projects selected to be developed for the ultimate year of study in Supinfogame (about ten months).
Supinfogame is a French school based at Valenciennes (near Belgium).
It’s specialized in Game Design and Project Management.
6 students currently works on the project.
The project will be submitted under a jury of professionals from various industries (press, video game, etc.) on june 2007.

Dirty Racer is a racing game, but not a classic racing game like any other. The main feature in Dirty Racer is the visibility. Most of the elements of this game are based upon this visibility. You’ll spend all the game behind your windshield, in a first-person view, so YOU will be the pilot. This wind shield is your only way to see the road and keeping it clean will be a pretty mess.

Cleaning a wind shield is no fun, unless up to 7 other players may be spreading mud on it while making their way through reckless tracks and using the environment to stop with, for example, a caravan, falling trees and some crazy useful stuff.

Even people around the track could try to stop you by throwing things in at your face. And players, once their car destroyed, will finally join them to split mud on you or try to keep you in line by washing your wind shield with water.

You will have to use the environment also to wash your wind-shield by getting under a waterfall or spoiling it with mud to increase your speed.

The DIRTIER you are the FASTER you are !

But not seeing anything could lead you to destruction even faster. Your last resort if you don’t have any water around would be to get your head out of the car through the door, but you won’t be able to stay that way for long with the wind blowing at your face and your hand trying to keep your buggy on the middle of road.

To defend yourself you will be able to collect some bonus item in order to clean your car or spoil your opponents and stun them. The foghorn should give them terrible headaches, electric interference turn their control up side down, your muffler could make them forget to avoid falling rocks or a pit, and other stuffs exclusive to Dirty Racer should help your to blast your friends out of your way.

To prevent your friends from having to spend their nights playing the same track for hours and hours in order to know them by heart and humiliate you, we decided to include an original random track-parts selecting and obstacle-placing system.

This should increase the fun and the replay value of our game.

So, come on, don’t be afraid of the dirt !
