help me learning digital painting
Hi,
I’m not sure what your background is. Do you have any formal training in painting with traditional mediums? If not I’d start learning about light, color, composition and overall picture making. Read about the methods of old master painters. Apply what you learn to some real paintings. Then over time take what you have learned and apply it to a digital painting program of your choice. believe me, learning and having a understanding of the basics should be your firtst step. None of the digital art apps out there are going to teach you how to paint. There are tons of tutorials out there. Just do a search online. It’s easier to learn and understand how to paint and compose a image before jumping into the computer, rather than having to both learn to paint and learn a program interface at the same time.
Also check some of the sticky threads within this forum section. There’s tons of information to answer all your questions about getting started. If you still have questions later, drop me a email for a quick reply or post your question/problem in a thread.
Good Luck!
