Help in basic MARI pnaiting

#1

hello
I’m texturing character in mari.
And I want to create round shape of color in the belly.

I go to the front view, but I cant get the shape to be evenly , because I cant paint evenly because im not that good with the wacom yet. and not only that, Its hard to me to make the edgs of the shapes clean, instead they looks like my hand was shaking when painted (because my hand shake sometimes).

  1. is there a tool in mari that can refine my shape edges to look clean ? (like some smooth / relax tool)

  2. is there a way to paint half shape and miror it in the paint buffer? (in the UV view maybe?)

thanks.

How perfectly round do you want it to be? There are plenty of ways to paint a circle.

Pick the paint tool and change the brush shape to a circle with a hard edge, make the brush radius really large (as large as you want the circle to be) and then tap where you want it on the screen.

You could also select an image of a circle and project it on there.

If you have photoshop you could unproject the image in Mari, create you shape using the vector tools in Photoshop and then reproject back into Mari.

If you don’t want a perfect circle you could always use the warp tools inside Mari to warp things around a bit.
