Hi folks, I’ve been having troubles creasing edges in convex corners with Maya. Let me try to illustrate what I mean so you can help.
To the left is a very simple polygonal object. To the right is a smoothed version of this object.

What I want is a way to make the top surface smooth, but make every corner on the side very hard. Some of them are very easy to solve by inserting edge loops, like so:

This technique doesn’t work for the other corners, though…because it creases the top surface of the model:

I’ve tried using the crease tool, but it gives some very weird results. I can never find any good solutions by manually splitting the edges either.There has to be an easy way to get the desired effect that I’m missing… any tips?
