Help - BVH file applied to rigged skeleton

Hi folks,

I’m currently trying to apply some BVH files to a pre rigged skeleton in Maya 2012.

I’ve been able to download and set up the importer for the BVH files (http://tinyurl.com/c9lefaf) which works fine for creating a new skeleton based upon the BVH file. However there is an option to apply the animation directly to a skeleton which when used causes the pre rigged skeleton (in the bind position) to move off centre and the animation doesn’t play properly, the joints sort of just wiggle about. It should be noted that the animation file doesn’t start in the T position which I imagine explains this problem.

I also attempted to use the “constrain” options in maya to replicate the animation on the already rigged skeleton which partly worked as the animation was copied fine, however the skin doesn’t conform to the joints any more (it goes jagged and twisted).

Any further ideas on things I can try would be greatly appreciated.
