So I’m having trouble unwrapping this model in Max and could really use some helpful advice.


One way to do it would be to split where “natural” seams occur in the object, like that kind of window at the front would be it’s own UV shell, same with the concave areas. Ask yourself which parts would be made of different materials and split accordingly.
Another way would be to UV map both sides separately (splitting the object in half if you will) since the object looks symmetrical. You could always re-attach them at the top and do a relax to have it one big shell.
Thank you for the reply, yes I have already seamed those parts and seperated them, those are easy to unwrap…
The part that I am most having problems with is the other section, the main body section and flattening it out effectively.

Cut into sections and planar map them, stitch manually and then relax.
