Heavenly Bodies Demo & Movie Trailer|Nest Egg Studios Projects
Nest Egg Studios:
Nest Egg Studios is an independent startup game studio that specializes in social- reality online ultra-genre games for the mature gaming audience (18-50) " Getting Adults Back Into The Game!" is not just our slogan, it is our ultimate goal. We've been in over 12 publications worldwide ( and growing i.e Computer Games Magazine, Nerve.com, GEE, Slashdong, IGDA Sex SIG etc) Sex in Games is a hot topic and we have been thrown into the party due to our game "Heavenly Bodies"The consistent popularity of mature entertainment/reality TV, combined with the growing interest in the online massive multi player gaming, each has been proven separately to be a winning concept in other markets and will produce the greater results for Nest Egg Studios. We are currently working on our first title" Heavenly Bodies" a reality adult MMOUGG (massive multiplayer online ultra-genre game) that can be play by hundreds of thousand of players simultaneously in a consistent virtual galaxy.
"Heavenly Bodies | Riffed Galaxy Game play involves player-characters living in a universe where magic and science co-exist, where gods oversee galactic empires and any adventure is possible. "Guardians" appointed by the gods, watch over and interact with the player-characters' as they embark on adventures encompassing a variety of every day adult themes with multi-genre fun. ( i.e. war, strategic capitalization, complex puzzles, murder mysteries, violence, missions, mini games, gambling, combination sports, social issues, specialty and hobbyist groups, sex, dating, relationships, in game communities, etc. These are all intertwined providing a unique experience for each player depending on his or her preference, from action to diplomacy.
Heavenly Bodies structure to give gamers a more in-depth adult gaming experience. The game itself -- no, the 'story' -- is about the adult side of the game; and the ability to present the paying user with an adult world that doesn't patronize, diminish, or offend the players intelligence is paramount to players. However, having content that is able to equally capture male and female users; themes, game play mechanics, plus the offering of casual 2D/3D games/mini games, will better serve the 'mass market'; instead of focusing only on a single gender, or genre.

Heavenly Bodies Demo |Mission

Demo Mission
The main goal of the demo is to present the best and most interesting features of HB to investors and future clients. The best way to do this, is to create a hub-based demo which includes a small map with access points to other areas. Users can return to the original map to choose different access points when they have had a sufficient look. Throughout this interaction, a guide will direct the user with what to do next. This will include a voice over and subtitles, as well as a graphical character that will appear and follow the player. This will inform about interesting features and what to do in the different areas. User interaction should be via keyboard and mouse. Right clicking the mouse should allow for the appearance of a cursor which can be used to activate objects and GUI. Mouse is used to look around, keypad is used to strafe left and right and forward and back. Some areas will require mouse only, as they are demos of game GUI or systems, not actual game play. Hitting escape will return player to hub map at any time. Hitting escape from this map will bring up an end screen and exit. The different areas of the demo should include: character creation, movement, genres/guardians, society/sexuality, mythologies, features/ethos.

To that end, the team is expected to engage in substantial, project-directed research about techniques and tools that will allow us to create a full, end-to-end graphical application that depends on a real-time 3D graphical engine.

Config-Box:
This will show up as soon as the demo is launched .
Info Copy:
Disclaimer, copyright info, etc
Short Intro:
With the intent to give a representation of the player experience to our investors (as if a customer bought the game and gets introduced and mood-set into the game), a short intro will play before the splash screen comes up. For the demo we will develop a smaller version of what a full-length introduction to HB background story would be.
This intro will show static artwork, like comic cells in a way, with an intro music bed; an effective and to the point sequence of scene to give a clue to the viewer about what he is getting into J and to set the mood. (Optionally if time allows we could have 3D static scenes instead color artwork, but due to time constrains a 2D Artwork into may actually show to be much more effective and stylized)
Title Splash:
HB title screen. Basic screen would be the plain HB title, hopefully we may have time and resources to render this more attractive with some visual effect to add a hint of movement and shine. START would show centerd at the bottom of the screen
HUB:
This is where the interactive part takes place. Hub is where the player will meet his/her guide and eventually be introduced to character creation, background story, training area and portals.
Riffed Mythologies Planetarium Library
This three sections are all about learning more about HB.
Riffed Mythologies:rolling sequence about the Riffed Galaxy; goes much deeper then the short intro at the start of the game
Planetarium:A 3D representation of the Riffed Galaxy with context sensitive info pop outs
Library:The Riffed Galaxy Books
Images and Text info about all there is to know.
Gardens:
Gardens is where the player will become familiar with how to do basic things in the game.
Portals/Worlds:
These are the arches/portals to the worlds. Portals will pop from underground with particle dust effects accompanied by audio cues. Only 2 of a certain number of portals will be actually active in the Demo. For the demo each of the 2 active worlds will only be a prototype version of what the world is supposed to be and will contain one sub game in addition to social elements and sex. World content will follow soon, as for the sub games, possibly a driving game prototype and a small flying game will be included.
Innovations: Each each section of this part of the demo will need to have very short scripts to show how to execute sexual activities, how to vote, how to select a SG or HG and give it a name, music catalog, in game advertising, planeshifting etc.

NEST| Why we are swamped and need Help:
At the end of December 2005 we were swamped by media, our website is now getting 250,000 hits per month. 300,000 just in first two weeks of Jan 2006. Everyone wanting a movie trailer yesterday, our network boomed real fast to over 85,000+. Ended up stretching current staff on 4 projects.
NEST| What do we have to offer you?
I can tell you what we have more than any portfolio|major credits etc offered. We are a team that has the ability to push the boundaries and make gaming history. We are a team with the ability to stick by a product for over 5 years through rigorous controversy. We are a team that takes accountability for our actions, steadily learning through the process of hard work and determination. Though we do have some professionals helping us on this project and allot of good PR, etc; attaching yourself to this project will mean the ability to handle working on something controversial and in the spotlight. So ultimately what is on the table; working with a family of dedicate professionals willing to share a life time experience, to progress and grow with you.
(Personal note from Developer)
The truth will never change, my main concern has always been doing right by the workers and doing right by Nest Egg Studios. If it takes us another 2 years to get Nest Egg Studios off the ground or the rest of my life to advocate mature, so be it. If you decide to join this team it is imperative you understand the realness of this indie project and the philosophy behind it. Most that answer these ads are well aware of what we are trying to accomplish.

Computer Games Magazine No. 181 December 2005
"Getting Adults back into the Game" by Cindy Yans
"Then I found myself in contact with the co-founder of Nest Egg Studios, an independent developer working on an MMO called Heavenly Bodies.
Nest Egg’s “slogan” is “Getting Adults Back Into the Game” — A rather good slogan, actually, notwithstanding that its relationship to explicit adult content is more than just implied.
CEO Vera Newman says, "Nest Egg Studios feels [adults’] needs, concerns and desires are not being met by the current industry 16% of games are rated [Mature]. I personally am not sure how that is accommodating the majority of adult game players… If the industry was not afraid of marketing Adult Only games, and if the retail industry took more reasonability in helping educate consumers on ratings, allowing AO games to be shelved, then there would be no need for our slogan…
