HCR MINI-Challenge #42: Goodbye Ghilbi - Lupin III

Hi everyone! I thought I’d try to do one of these contests, even though I’m pretty late. There’s already a ton of great stuff being posted =]. I’ve been a long time lurker but never really post anything, so please let me know if I’m doing anything wrong.

I saw Lupin III on the list and I started on making a more real-life version of Lupin III with Joseph Gordon-Levitt for reference. I don’t have my Wacom with me, so I’m seeing how far I can go without Zbrush. The eyes are starting to look pretty cartoony, so I might switch them back to a more realistic style.

WIP:

I need to look up a way to light that doesn’t involve the basic physical sun and sky… I can’t wait to do the rest of the body and all the wrinkles and details!

I’m pretty behind, but I want to finish this even if I don’t make the deadline (thanks for the extension!); I’ve added some wrinkles to the clothing and started on the gun. Proportions are off, so I’ll work on fixing those issues as well. Wooo look at that fancy hand.

I worked more on the gun and the clothes and changed his pose a bit. If you squint, it looks like his hand is done and he’s just wearing a watch… Hmmmm or maybe it’s time to get started on that.
