HCR MINI-Challenge #42: Goodbye Ghibli: Laputa - Castle in the sky, Robot

Hey!

This challenge was a perfect start to get going with some fun and goaloriented projects. I choose to do the Robot from the movie Laputa - Castle in the sky, because it is relativly simple model wich can be done really cool if you have the time. And when it comes to time I don’t have tons of it right now so this was an ideal project!

Will be working in Maya, Mudbox, Maxwelll and probably some Photoshop!

Heres my refernces (so far!):

My Plan is to make it nice and worn, and add some plants and other cozy things ontop! WIP’s comin up, enjoy!

WIP Update:

1h roughing out the shapes of the Robot. Probably going to do the arms straight out instead and rigg them for posing later :slight_smile:

½ - 45 min more work… Going a bit slow atm hehe!

Another Update, think I’m finished with the basemodel. Will do a quick unwrap and begin sculpting some in Mudbox, time’s closing in for deadline! :slight_smile:

After some beloved unwrapping i got it into mudbox ready set go for sculpting!
