HCR MINI-Challenge #19: 80's Cartoons

#81

Nice post Brian. I was trying to remember the name of the Visionaries. I remember when it got bad. Probably would fly today.

#82

What about Dino-Riders!

#83

So I noticed that The REAL Ghostbusters is on the list. Does that mean we can’t do anything from that Ghostbusters ripoff cartoon with the giant monkey?

I have a Skyhawk V.T.O.L. (G.I. Joe) in my demo reel if anyone wants to have a look for inspiration.

Good luck to everyone!

Not that this is really relative to anything but how come we don’t keep all WIP and such in one thread? ie. Like Gameartisans.org ? They make a good point in the fact that not many people want to follow XX amount of threads, and if it is all contained in one thread you can easily play off of each other with ideas and inspiration without having to open XX amount of threads. :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyhow, wish I could participate, but I probably won’t. I am curious if the Ninja Turtles were the 80’s ?

#85

I like the idea that each participant has ownership of their own threads.
we have this mater thread for those who wish to discuss common idea, or for those who want to give a peek of their WIP.

Beisdes at the end of the day these individual threads give the new artists the ability to learn from a particular method…

The first Captain Future cartoon was produced 1978. So, unfortunately its not 80s anymore. Still me and a friend will stick to the idea with Captain Future. We will open a new thread soon.

For all of you taking part in this challenge: Good luck and have lot of fun!

And thank you Roberto for this great challenge!

#91

was wondering how people who have started their own thread make it so there lastest work/update comes up as the first post??

Thanks.

#92

Hi guy’s, good luck all.

A quick question for Roberto. Would it be possible to do a sculpt of a Masters of the Universe character based on the Four Horsemen design? (more specifically it would be a copy of the NECA statues). I’ve been wanting to try and model a Masters’ character for sometime now and this seems to be a perfect oppotunity to do so but I would prefer to do the more detailed 200x version.

#93

You just edit your first post in the thread to show whatever you want. It’s not automated or anything special like that.

#94

can any help me out… im trying to attach my reference image and i dont see an attachment button

#95

You can host it somewhere (I use Imageshack) and then link to it. Then when you go to post your message, click the button that looks like mountains. If you move your mouse over it, a tool tip will come up: “Insert Image.” Hit that button and put the address for it. You can also just click “Code for Forums” on Imageshack and it will give you the necessary code.

#96

I’m going for the thundercats’ reinterpretation. I hope my job allows me to finish…

#97

Hi to all, this will be my first challenge and I’m very excited, expecially beacuse this is a very funny way to start. Hope to learn as much as possible from this experience.

Roberto, what do you think about Japanese Cartoons?
These are for example:

Dash Kappei
Captain Harlock

#98

Go ahead…

have fun

Japanese cartoons are ok, but they have to be from the 80’s
Captain Harlock is from the 70’s

#99

Is Gundam considered an 80s cartoon? If not, i will go with Thundercats but I think its in that time period.

Hi all

This is my first CG challenge.

I will be doing my own interpretation of Danger Mouse.

All concept drawn by me.

Good luck to all.
