HARDCORE MODELING!: 80's Cartoon: The Moomins

Hello,
just placing wip ,gonna start modeling about 8th as I have a lot of work for now :slight_smile:
I choose The Moomins,starting from their house . I would really like to model the outside and inside,but i will need strong references to do it right.

I gathered some reference materials,started modeling yesterday evening and today,and here it is …progress:)

I’m going to look for more references since im not 100% sure about proportions …

ok so far so buggedhehe :slight_smile: few after-mirror-bugs ,one after-turbosmooth-bug and some other things to do ,all in all i will need some geometry proxies sooner or later if I model everything :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Looks great! From what I can see it seems you are sticking to the reference pretty well.

My goal for today should be modeling and placing windows and back of the house …

Still, thinking about windows:) trying different ideas
question - is there good geometry proxy in mental ray/max?
I want to go into really large poly count as its modeling challange but i know that it’s not going to handle (viewport) >3 milions poly or rendering whole big scene at a time…

Now i like those windows ,next I will refine back of the house - basement’s outside,then
i’m going to block in inside of the house ,because I need to know if windows are in good position to cut holes in building:)


I need to model one small detail on entrance roof too…

I started fight with proportions and modeling saloon…
Often I wonder if thing is too long or its just camera/drawing ilusion :slight_smile:

some things are floating etc its just wip:)
I need to hurry up as there are few rooms left !

Looking good sir. Though I would say your renders are slightly too bright to make out all the detail.
