HARDCORE MODELING!: 80's Cartoon: He-Man & BattleCat Diorama

#21

i really like, great:applause:

#22

Thank you Airflow, razeverius,RTjunior and jhasse

BattleCat Helmet:

The rest of the armour, BattleCat looks too bulky from this perspective

needs more polishing, but i’ll proceed to make He-Man’s armour and weapons next.

#23

Battlecat’s pose looks way better now. Sweet! I’d still tweak He-Man though to make them appear to move more in unison. Right now they still seem a bit disjointed. Great work on the armor so far. I guess its a bit early to say, but I do have some trouble following you on the feline anatomy.

Cheers!

Btw, I really liked your work on Dragonball/Goku since I first saw it on ZBC a while back.

#24

Really nice armor. Very remeniscent of the cartoon. Props.

#27

Please finish it soon! haha

#28

He-man Accesories Update , still have tons to do ~ hair, hands, face, and furry boots…

TheRazorsEdge: thanks :), i’ll do an overall tweak when i assemble everything together.
RageOfAges: thank you, glad that u liked it
AJ: yes, putting them together is a joy
Senseicapi: of cos!
Slashmore: trying my best to hit the deadline

Everything is looking really good here, very true to the original design. Nice dynamic posing too. What are your plans for the hair and fur? Also, what software are you rendering with?

#30

looks very promising. i think the weight of he-man as he sits on this rearing cat will be worth keeping in mind during final tweak of the pose. in your rough draw-overs so far i think he looks a little disconnected from the cat and a little slipping of the back far side of the saddle.

looking forward to seeing how this turns out

#31

hair for he-man is tedious work, phew!

scottimation : Thanks, i’m drawing all the hair and fur in Zbrush, rendering with vray+max.

axiomatic : thankyou too, his left hand would be grabing onto a handle and his seat’s backing should be high enough for him to counter-balance… in theory, hopefully i can pull it off convincingly.

#32

Furry Briefs are done, used rake brush with lazy stroke, so much easier now

#33

It’s great!
I really check this forum every 3 hours to see if there is any update! haha

#34

This is incredible! really giving me something to live up to.

are you really just using max and zbrush? I’d really like to see more on how you went about building that mesh in the first picture. It just doesn’t really look like something out of max.

Awesome work though! Looks just like 'em!

#35

You really know your anatomy! Great job so far, very dynamic pose. I have to know what your poly count is looking like though, detail like that comes at a price!
Again, very impressive.

#36

The fur and hair look great! Overall everything looks like a really high-quality version of the original 80’s toy. Very nice! You might want to consider getting this printed when its done. It surely would make a nice statue.

Cheers!

#37

simply loving it!

also loved the paintovers on the hair’s WIP … hahaha

#38

Slashmore: thx for ur support, i appreciate it
Gatewave: i used max to create rough forms, then onto zbrush for sculpting
jasonfeiner: thank you, my current zbrush file is 12 million polys, each subtool i try not to exceed 2 million. most of the subtools are hidden while i work, so its still very smooth.
TheRazorsEdge: nice idea
stage-gr:

updated hands and boots, coming next would be BattleCat’s refinements.

#39

oh yeah that is simply amazing!:applause: nicenice

Excellent work so far Omni. I’d consider this one for a 3D print. It really is coming out well.
