HARDCORE MODELING!: 80's Cartoon: Gummi Bears

#41

Hey here is a quick update struggling with Toadwart’s head I don’t know if it is lack of good pics or what but at least I seem to be making some progress. Needs alot of work!!
Oh keep in mind I am modeling him in the idea that he will be upside down.

He looks pretty good to me at least according to the pictures you posted. Maybe you just mean the amount of time. I’m with you there on mine.

#43

I only had a hour to work but I find if I post I keep myself moving better than if I don’t.

What a crazy week. Haven’t given up just had to side track for a bit. Modeled for a couple hours tonight worked more on toadie!
There is tweaking to be done and I want to figure something else out for his fur on his shoulders and his elbows and little outfit thingy eventually when I model it. If any one has ideas it would be much appreciated.

Background is coming along but isn’t rendering well without textures so it will have to wait to be posted.

Here is a quick camera position test.

Have to fix up the symetry on Toadies face and ears, and place the gummi berry juice in his right hand. Then a quick fix on Zummi’s hat and place his piece of paper in left hand. (Poor forgetful Zummie)

I think I am going to darken up Toadies shoulder hair as well but we’ll see.

Crits welcome. Just a bit left to finish up for tomorrow.

Hey what is that post about not due till Friday?

Here is the final version not completely happy with it I need to beef up on my rendering and lighting skills had probs with shadows. Loved the challenge Thanks For the Help and Support. Everyone’s stuff looks AWESOME!! HIGHRES LINK

#53

Final version is very cute  Lighting and shaders would be better but you have improve in next challange  Models are good. Very nice picture and work mnartgirl

#54

lol nice. the edit looks really cute  congrats on finishing

#55

Thanks

Completely agree with the lighting and shading!! I think I will be taking some time to work on that here between now and the next project.

Hey I know with the voting and stuff people may not have a chance for a bit but if anyone gets a second and feels like being critical I wouldn’t mind some critics on my final. I know the rendering sucks and so does the lighting (Really need to brush up my skills)

Anywho if anyone has a minute and feels like a good ol’ fashion critic session please do!

Well it looks like a comp of 2 different pictures, is it? I say that because there are shadows from the characters and none in the rest of the scene. I’m guessing the shadows are being cast from the magic spell. That would make sense but I would soften them up on everything else. Area lights do that in LW not sure what program your using. Other than that I think you did a good job matching the style of everything. My first impression was it reminded me of King’s Quest which is a good match for Gummi Bears.

Actually it isn’t two seperate scenes. Funny I was trying to get the silly shadows to work with the characters I didn’t notice the rest of the geo wasn’t projecting any! I painted the blueish background trees in but the rest is geometry.

Thanks soo much for your replies I really appreciate it.

Oh and I am in Maya 7.0
