If Vegetas is catching kamehameha and trying to push it back, you would think with that kind of force hitting him that his legs would be a little straighter and less bent at the knees, with on leg back slightly (say if you were standing on the ground trying to hold your ground), but it is in the air so who really knows how you hold your balance there
HARDCORE MODELING!: 80's Cartoon: Goku vs Vegeta
Itās like watching a balet suspended in time so far. Really like this look, the empty space, the poses, the lighting
Keep up the good workā¦
Man! thatās looking pretty awesome aye, you really pushing through this. Just one comment though is that Gokuās arm doesnāt look quite right. Vegeta looks good but Gokuās triceps area is a little deep. Youāve made a lot of progress and you keep pushing me to do better :). what kind of background you going for? a nice battle on eart with massive cliff tops? that be kool.
Cheers,
Brad
Actually I disagree with this almost entirely. In the manga, even in the air, when blocking huge blasts from either party a lot of the times you will find that, unless they donāt have any trouble, their pose would almost mimic their powering up pose, you know, the one where it looks as if they are taking a dump because they are so constipated.
If anything I would spread his legs further, exaggerate the pose a bit more.
@jett12:yeh the pose is a tricky oneā¦the only thing that doesnāt sit right with me at the moment are the legsā¦need to sort something out for those.
@samartin: thanksā¦lol at the thought of goku and vegeta doing balletā¦lol
@Bradv63: thanks, Iāll have a look at gokuās arm and try and sort it outā¦as for a background, there wonāt be one per se. goku and vegeta will be on little rock formation bases.
@wev: thanks!
@Geta-Ve,gdavisiv: i would tend to agree alsoā¦
updates should be coming in about 6-10 hoursā¦lolā¦Iām going out this afternoon but will be working all night on itā¦might have a go at trying to do the energy ball battleā¦
not ready to show progress on the energy blasts yetā¦theyāre not at a point where iām happy with themā¦but in the mean time i did some new close up renders which i think are quite coolā¦

Iāve decided to change my poses for my entryā¦still keeping it goku vs vegeta but choosing a different moment in the fightā¦the other poses were just going to be too hard to work with what with the scale of the energy battle and allā¦so instead iām shooting for this moment right at the very start of the fight

and hereās a quick turnaround of the rough poses using some nice boxesā¦lolā¦
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWMkMW8PfHc
so iāll obviously have to model some more new headsā¦but thats okay thats one part iāve really enjoyed in this challengeā¦
i must say u r approaching towards a really nice scene ther !! and very interesting thread uāve got !! gud luck !!
@sanketpro3d: thanks!
alrightā¦since iāve changed the pose i realised i would need to model his shirtā¦so iāve started working on thatā¦and obviously the face will change tooā¦lol

donāt worry about me covering up the muscles and everything, Iām going to do just a simple standing Goku as well and he wonāt have the shirtā¦
shirts pretty much done nowā¦just a few wrinkles to add here and thereā¦tried a little bit of simple texturing as well

Hey there fellow DbZ:er!
This is turning out great!
Love the way u keepin it true to the manga!
The faces are especially cool!
Why did u wanna change the scene? I think the energyball idea was awesome =P
Aw too bad. The other scene was so dynamic. Good luck changing everything around⦠again.
this is aMazing work bro!!..and I really like theToyish look you have going hereā¦youāre pretty good man!!!..4realā¦
ltr~
Just wanted to say that I envy you for having the balls to go back to square one with the models and change things up re positioning. I have to say though that the back of the arms look very odd, as does his neck from the front where in attaches to the head.
Though I wouldnāt worry about the neck until you pose him. (The hair still looks off, but I canāt place my finger as to why⦠:sad: )
Keep up the hard, and great, work man!
@Airflow: thanks, nice to know youāre looking at my work
@energise: thanks, the reason I changed the idea was mainly because of scale. If I represented it accurately the final render would have Goku and Vegeta as little specks but if I shrunk it down to a point where they were a good size in the render it would all look a bit hokey. So by going with the poses that I am, I can have both Goku and Vegeta as a large part of the final render which is what Iām ultimately after.
@WyattHarris: I do kinda get into that habit ey? changing things mid streamā¦
@gaiXyn: thanks
@Geta-Ve: thanks, its not exactly square one I still have the unposed models, but I appreciate the comment anyhooā¦lolā¦I know what you mean about the back of the armā¦itās been annoying me for weeks and I just havenāt been bothered enough to fix it.
I think the problem with the neck is that the head isnāt actually attached at the moment, itās just sitting there, as you said I was waiting till Iād posed them. Also if you do happen to put your finger on why the hair looks wierdā¦please let me knowā¦lol
wow, you did so much in such a short period, loving what you are doing so far, i canāt wait to see the finished entry. The pose youāve chosen for goku is one of my favourites, all the best!
@Omnilight: thanks
now I thought Iād have another go at rigging, it was pretty awful but came out better than my previous effortsā¦so i did some renders of the poses, and keep in mind i havenāt adjusted anything its still all the mess i got after the riggingā¦but it should work outā¦

(vegetaās hands need enlargingā¦)
iām almost embarrassed by thoseā¦lolā¦iāll try and fix them up tomorrowā¦
also goku will definitely be having his hair redoneā¦
