Greeble plugin for Max 2010 released

#1

Hi everyone,

I have just released the 3ds max 2010 build of the “Greeble” texturing plugin on my website at max.klanky.com. The zipfile is available by clicking on the “2010” button, and contains both 32- and 64-bit versions.

The plugin is provided free of charge. If you like, you can help support my local wildlife rehabilitator, Pine View Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, by making an optional donation via PayPal. Pine View helps hundreds of sick and injured wild animals every year, getting them back in shape and returning them to the wild. They do good work there, and I’m hoping I can get the support of the 3D modeling community to help them out with their expenses.

I will give 100% of all donations to Pine View.

Here is a photo of a snowy owl being released after rehabilitation:

Thanks to everyone who donates, and enjoy the plugin!

I am working on Greeble2 now, though other projects have higher priority and must come first.

Greeble2 has several additional features that make things like cityscape generation, as Josef is doing, MUCH easier. It has better texture controls, allowing things like buildings to be done with the proper scale, with the geometry generated to match texture dimensions. Also piping and user-defined widgets and a widget library utility for people who want to design their own components.

It is still in the early alpha stage of development, but I think people will really like it when it’s complete. It’s already pretty useful even at this stage.

Tom,

Thanks for releasing the update for Greeble for Max 2010!!!

If you need any volunteers to test version 2, I’d be happy too once I finish a huge project in two weeks.

Thanks again!

Jeff
